Part I - The Infusion Process
This technology forms a water-repellent, semi-vapor permeable coating that interlocks with the wood fibers to provide controlled topical and subsurface moisture absorption. The key to mold control is MOISTURE CONTROL. BluWood components limit uncontrolled moisture absorption. The Infusion Process is specifically formulated to resist mold fungus growth on the surface of the cured coating.
The Infusion Process is designed to continually migrate below the surface of the wood after initial spray-on treatment. As it penetrates, it creates bonds between the wood fibers at the cellular level, and DOT, thus capturing and locking the DOT within the wood. The result is a better conditioned piece of wood.
When DOT is used in conjunction with the Infusion Process, the wood can be exposed to harsh environmental job-site conditions and still have protection against twisting, cupping, warping or splitting versus untreated lumber.
BluWood building components are marketed to leading contractor-oriented building material suppliers after factory application.
